New Zealand Petroleum Summit 2013: Creating an environment for success

Building on the success of the inaugural Petroleum Summit in 2012, PEPANZ and Freeman Media have come together to organise this year鈥檚 Petroleum Summit, a two day event were over 300 industry delegates will meet to discuss new technologies, legislation and regulation, skills, equipment and infrastructure challenges.

CEO of the Petroleum Exploration and Production Association, David Robinson said, 鈥淭he true potential of New Zealand鈥檚 Petroleum sector is rapidly emerging, with players at 天美直播 and abroad watching with interest as we explore what lies beneath. Our industry is building its capacity, introducing new technologies and upping the game with new and better practices being put into play as our activity increases in scale.

鈥淭he ground is constantly shifting; the Government has rewritten the rule book for the sector from Health and Safety, to the management of the Crown Minerals Estate.

One of the highlights of this year鈥檚 Summit is the political debate, where the Minister for Energy and Resources Hon Simon Bridges will be on stage with Dr Russel Norman - co-leader of the Green Party, and Moana Mackey - energy spokesperson for Labour to debate the subject of science vs. ideology and will be facilitated by economics editor at the聽New Zealand Herald, Brian Fallow.

鈥淭he 2013 Petroleum Summit brings together industry, government and communities to find new solutions to these challenges; to share experiences, and learn from one another. Growing this sector brings with it great rewards, growing this sector together ensures everyone will enjoy its success鈥, David Robinson said.

聽The Summit is taking place 18-19 September at the Westpac Stadium, in Wellington.聽
